    “Ambleteuse selbst ist für die Gegend ein mittelgroßes, hübsches Örtchen mit einigen Gaststätten und geringen Einkaufsmöglichkeiten. Dafür ist es nur ein strammer Fußmarsch bis nach Audresselles mit seinen hübschen und sehr preiswerten kleinen Restaurants und wenige Kilometer weiter bis nach Wissant mit seinem kleinen Spar-Markt oder, auch nicht weiter weg, nach Marquise mit einem riesigen Carefour-Markt und einer Aldi-Filiale. Kurz vor Calais, etwa 20 km von Slack entfernt, finden sich ein Outlet-Center sowie ein Giga-Supermarkt - so viele Weinsorten an einem Ort haben wir noch nirgendwo gesehen. Die Gegend der Opalküste zwischen Blanc Nez und Gris Nez lädt zu endlosen Strand- und Dünen-Spaziergängen ein.”

    “Gastronomie haben wir nicht ausprobiert. Einkaufsmöglichkeiten sind ausreichend vorhanden. Freizeitangebot in Ambleteuse direkt jede Menge Meer, tolle Strände, keiner davon überfüllt. Wer Trubel such sollte ein bißchen fahren. Boulogne hat eine sehenswerte Altstadt und Wimmereux einen Spielplatz mit Karrussel. Wir haben genau das gefunden was wir wollten. Ruhe erholung Entspannung und das Meer.”
