Something different: Holiday in the middle of Europe in a holiday apartment in Slovakia

Slovakia is surrounded by five neighbouring European countries: Austria, Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland as well as Ukraine form the borders. The mountainous country was formed in 1993 after the partition of Czechoslovakia into the Czech and Slovak Republic. There is an especially large number of holiday houses on offer in Slovakia: From the chalet for more than 10 persons to small resorts with wooden and block houses – holiday makers can enjoy Slovakia all through the year. Water enthusiast will love the thermal spas and aquatic parks; hikers can explore the mountains; even huntsmen can find numerous game preserves in the large woods. Those who love winter sports will also enjoy a holiday apartment in Slovakia as the mountains of the High Tatra offer well equipped skiing facilities.

Holiday houses are also offered in the Carpathian Mountains of Slovakia

Slovakia is mainly mountainous: The north and centre are shaped by the Small and White Carpathian Mountains. The south is characterised by lush woods. The nature reserve Javorina in the White Carpathian Mountains is worth a visit. As the forests are not managed the unspoilt nature is particularly impressive. Three developed paths lead through the “virgin forests”. The capital Bratislava lies in the west at the border to Austria. That is why many Slovaks like to use the airport in Vienna. The country itself provides five large airports which make the journey to your holiday house in Slovakia absolutely uncomplicated.

Peace and quiet – Where you can pick up the fresh milk in the morning from the farmer?

Many Slovakian regions which offer the most beautiful and modern, but also traditional and cosy furnished holiday apartments are part of the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage. A holiday in the countryside, complimented by a city tour and a visit to one of the museums, will make your holidays in the fresh air memorable. Who can say he goes every morning to the next farm and buy fresh milk? And pick a crunchy, red apple from a tree? Whether you want to go riding, take a walk or a swim – peace and quiet are guaranteed. In the winter the great slopes in central Slovakia are ideal for downhill skiing with some accommodations not even 50 metres away from the slope. What a luxury! The ideal accommodations in the east of Slovakia and the region of the High Tatra are those at the foot of the mountains: A sunny morning on the balcony or terrace, a dip in your private pool and then off you go on a discovering the beauties of Slovakia.
