    “Porto da Cruz ist ein hübsches, aber wirklich sehr ruhiges Örtchen.Es gibt ein Meeresschwimmbad (1,50 € Eintritt) und einen natürlichen Kiesstrand - ein Hotspot für Surfer. Einen Mietwagen sollte man besser haben; es gibt zwar Busse, aber nur einen winzigen Laden und eine Apotheke, für alles andere muss man nach Machico.
    Der Aufenthalt hier ist ideal für ein paar ruhige Tage und als Standort für Wandertouren im Nordosten der Insel.”
