    “Ponta do Pargo ist ein sehr kleiner, ruhiger und von den Tourismuszentren abgelegener Ort (er ist ungeeignet für Urlauber, welche gerade am Abend Abwechslung suchen, Bars oder Restaurants in Abendgarderobe aufsuchen möchten oder im Urlaubsort flanieren möchten). Das Wetter war im März eher wechselhaft und noch sehr kühl (15°C) und zum Teil auch stürmisch, nicht vergleichbar mit der Südküste von Madeira. Ponta do Pargo kann aber sehr gut als Ausgangspunkt für Wanderungen dienen. Da viele der Wanderrouten aber oberhalb von 500 m Höhe liegen, muss man auch hier mit wechselhaften und sehr kühlen Wetter im zeitigen Frühjahr rechnen.
    Wir haben nur Einkaufsmöglichkeiten außerhalb von Ponta do Pargo genutzt.
    Es gibt mehrere ausgezeichnete Restaurants in unmittelbarer Umgebung der Ferienunterkunft, bei denen auch die Preise stimmen. Ratenswert ist, das Auto für den Besuch der Restaurants zu nutzen, da bis zum Ferienhaus ein langer, eher steiler Anstieg bewältigt werden muss, welchen man gerade am Abend oder nach einer Wanderung nicht mehr gern absolvieren möchte.”

    “Von Ponta do Pargo haben wir nicht viel wahrgenommen. (Ein Kreis habe ich angeklickt, weil man es sonst die Befragung nicht abschicken konnte.) Cabo ist ein ganzes Stück von dem Flecken entfernt. Wir sind nur durchgefahren. Allerdings haben wir zweimal bei einem sehr guten Restaurant (O forno) Halt gemacht.
    Cabo ist ein guter Ausgangspunkt (15-30 Minuten) mit dem Auto sowohl in Porto Moniz (im Norden) als auch Ponta do Sol (Süden) und auf der Hochebene Paul da Serra und verschiedene Levadas. Man muss mit ständigem Wetterwechsel rechnen - manchmal ist es feucht-wolkig, dann wieder heiß-sonnig oder auch stürmisch.”
