    “Pont Saint Esprit is een leuk frans dorpje. Verschillende keren markt in de week. Mooi gelegen aan de oever van de Rhône. Een goede uitvalbasis om het zuiden van de Ardèche en de Gard te verkennen. Ook de Mont Ventoux en het strand van de Middellandse zee liggen binnen bereik. Mooie steden als Uzes, Nimes en Avignon zijn een aanrader. Arles is ook een mooie stad, maar parkeren is daar een probleem. Waterrecreatie is te vinden in het nabijgelegen Saint Martin d' Ardèche. Wandelen behoort ook tot de mogelijkheden.”

    “Pont St. Esprit ist ein eigentlich recht schöner Provence-Ort. Die Brücke spannt sich wunderschön über die Rhône und die alten 'shabby-chic-Häuser' passen auch dazu. Leider merkt man, dass in andere Orte mehr investiert wird, weshalb einiges auch ein wenig verkommt. Dennoch, es gibt absolut ausreichend Einkaufsmöglichkeiten und man bekommt alles in kurzer Distanz (Auto empfehlenswert). Was komplett fehlt, ist eine Eisdiele ;-)

Pont-Saint-Esprit ist allerdings ein recht kleiner Ort, dem man zuweilen anmerkt, dass die finanziellen Mittel nicht ausgereicht haben, um die historischen Bestände zu erhalten. Doch die Lage ist geradezu optimal, um von hier aus wunderbare Orte zu besuchen wie Uzès oder Avignon oder in den schönen Flüssen Ardeche oder Ceze zu baden. Der Ort selbst hat demgegenüber leider nicht sehr viel zu bieten. Die alte Kirche wird derzeit renoviert. Das hat wiederum den Vorteil, dass man nicht in einer für Touristen aufgearbeiteten Idylle lebt, sondern in einem authentischen alten französischen Städtchen.”
