    “It‘s not a touristy village. Many houses are in poor condition. There are a number of good places to eat. But you want to visit the Algarve not because of villages but because of the beautiful nature and the absolutely stunning coastal area. If you don‘t like big crowds of tourists and have a car at hand Monchique is an excellent place to stay. You can quickly drive to e.g. Lagos and enjoy the amenities there.”

    “Nice town, not as small as we expected. Has several restaurants, a supermarket and some shops. Parts of it are a bit run-down, and there is not much to do there.”
