    “Voor ons ouderen een heerlijk rustige omgeving, maar voor jongeren mist hoogstwaarschijnlijk een uitgaansleven.. Dit is er dan wel in Tavira, maar dan heb je een auto nodig, of ben je afhankelijk van het openbaar vervoer, wat wij zelf niet geprobeerd hebben.”

    “In Luz de Tavira is niets te zien, maar je zit wel vlakbij Tavira en Olhao. Mooi om te bezoeken : burcht van Castro Marim. Bezoek zeker ook het strand van Cacela Velha (+/- 10 km voorbij Tavira richting Spanje) : absoluut de moeite , wel opgepast bij opkomend tij (kom tijdig terug).     “In Luz de Tavira zijn we niet geweest. Dit is een slaapdorpje met in ieder geval 1 bar en 1 drogist (voor zover we het vanuit de auto hebben kunnen zien). Tavira (nog geen 10 minuten rijden met de auto) is echter heel mooi en wordt ook wel eens met Venetie vergeleken. Hier kun je ook je dagelijkse boodschappen bij meerdere supermarkten doen of 's ochtends naar de overdekte markt gaan.”
