The village is made up of old traditional houses and a handful of shops located around the well shaded village square. Some of the houses in the village, as well as a number of the buildings on its outskirts, once used for commercial purposes, show distinct Italian characteristics. These include the old silk factory, a deserted war-time prison, a derelict church with its clock tower and the impressive road opposite the church, lined with cypress trees, which leads to Aghios Pavlos Bay.
