“Boca Gentil is een prachtig resort: Schitterende tuinen en zeer goed onderhouden. Ook dag/nacht bewaakt, dus superveilig. Direkte (gratis) toegang tot Jan Thiel Beach met vele erg goede restaurants (Zanzibar is al decennia lang een begrip en nog steeds goed, met op zaterdag om 17.00 uur een legendarisch Happy Hour, maar er is ook Zest, Tinto (erg lekker, naar onze ervaring...) etc.. Strandstoelen bij het eigen zwembad zijn gratis, bij Jan Thiel Beach betaal je een redelijk bedrag van NAF 6 per stoel (EUR 3). Er zijn genoeg schaduwplekken, die zeker in het begin van de vakantie ook wel aan te bevelen zijn.
Er is een supermarkt heel dichtbij (Van Tweel = Albert Heijn) waar je vrijwel alle nodige boodschappen kunt halen. In ieder zaken voor een heerlijk ontbijtje in de ochtend (verse broodjes, sapjes, fruit etc.). Ook andere supermarkten (bijv. Vreugdenhil) heel dichtbij voor nog veel meer keus (veel Z. Amerikaans vlees tegen aangename prijzen!!!).
Aanraders: - Huur wel een auto (zeker als je het eiland wilt ontdekken) -> tips: Struisvogel Farm, Grotten van Hato, Boca Tabla, Christoffelpark (incl. beklimming Christoffelberg...), Westpunt (incl. bezoek aan Jaanchies, waar je gerechten met leguaan kunt proeven) en natuurlijk heel veel baaitjes (aanraders: Cas Abao, Porto Marie, Kokomo Beach, Blue Bay Beach, sommigen tegen betaling, maar allemaal de moeite waard!). En u moet zeker een trip (wij bevelen BlueFinn met de catamaran aan) naar Klein-Curacao (opstappen kan bij Zanzibar!) maken. Fantastische trip, lijkt duur, maar is het niet voor wat je krijgt: Mooie trip, fantastische lunch + drinks (wat je maar wilt!!!) en gewoon een enorm gezellige dag, Bovendien zwemmen/snorkelen met de mooiste vissen en schildpadden!”
