Enjoy a holiday home vacation in magical Čiovo

With an area of just 28 square kilometres Čiovo occupies a prime location in central Dalmatia off of the Croatian Adriatic Coast. During the Middle Ages, Čiovo's villages were a refuge for lepers but today its central location makes it an excellent base from which to explore the surrounding region. Holiday homes, holiday rentals and holiday apartments are in plentiful supply.

The cultural facets of Čiovo

The historic coastal town of Trogir is connected to the mainland by a bridge and its medeival centre has been under the protection of UNESCO since 1997 for its unique culture and Venetian influenced architecture. The core of the town has a concentration of baroque and romanesque buildings including the Cathedral of St. Lovre and the two Cipiko palaces which date from the15th century. In contrast the idyllic fishing village of Arbanija has a coastline of shady woods, coves and holiday houses and holiday apartments. Along the cliffs in the southeast the island, the 14th century Church of Our Lady of Prizidnica once provided refuge from the world at its hermitage. On the mainland peninsula occupied by the city of Split, the hill of Marjan is cloaked in a Mediterranean pine forest and surrounded by the sea. Marjan's beaches, zoo and nature trails are ideal for family excursions. For Croatian nightlife, the areas around Trogir, Split, Kaštel and Primošten are popular destinations for those who book a holiday house, holiday rental or holiday home in Ciovo.

Nature at its best

With its Mediterranean vegetation, the archipelago of Okrug Gornji has many pretty islands, secret coves, bays and diving opportunities where you can discover the delights of the Adriatic. Watersports including paragliding are available in the area or you can rent a scooter and take a trip to the waterfalls of the river Krka or the Marian Shrine in Medugorje. Slatine's coastline is populated by hidden lagoons, dramatic cliffs and secluded beaches and the summer is the perfect time for families to enjoy its clear waters and the shade of its pines.
