Aber auch in der Hochsaison dürfte es eher ruhiger zugehen. Für Nachtschwärmer ist es wohl nicht das passende Ferienziel. Im Carrefour Supermarkt und in den Geschäften, die meisten davon nahe des Kreisels in Barneville, kann sich mit den notwendigen Alltagsartikeln versorgen.

    Mehrere Restaurants verschiedener Güte findet man im Ortsteil Carteret am Hafen bzw. im Umkreis des Hafens. In Barneville findet man Bars und Cafes, die ein Tagesmenü anbieten, abends jedoch geschlossen sind. Eine Ausnahme ist das "Le Gohan" am Ortsende, auf der Rue au Lait. Das "Tortuga" und "La Plage" in Barneville-Plage haben außerhalb der Saison anscheinend nur ein sehr eingeschränktes Angebot. Am Campingplatz von Saint-Jean-de-la-Rivière, "Les Vikings", gibt es ein gleichnamiges, ordentliches Restaurant.
