This wonderful holiday home is situated on the hills overlooking Lucca, at just 11 km from this breathtaking walled town.


The house has been recently renovated maintaining the original architectonical character.

It is located between Valgiano and Matraia, a wonderful area with a stunning view over the olive groves and the plain of Lucca.


Its position is spectacular as well as a good place for excursions around Tuscany. Florence (70km) and Pisa (30km) are easy to reach by bus or train from Lucca, as also is the Tuscan coast (Viareggio etc).


Finely furnished and full of rural Tuscan appeal the cottage, however, offers all modern comforts.

Guests have access to a large garden equipped with dining furniture, barbecue and deck chairs, a wonderful place to make maximum use of the outdoors, where there also is a small stone basin (2x1 mt) with fresh natural spring water. In front of the entrance there is a beautiful porch for al fresco dining.


Ground floor: access into the kitchen (fridge, oven, toaster, kettle), one bathroom with shower, a large living room. First floor: on the left side a double bedroom, and on the right side a bathroom with shower, a double bedroom with French bed (sleeps 1+1/2), a large living room with an open loft with two single beds. At guest's disposal a washing machine, hair dryers, Dvd player, TV, books (in English and Italian) and internet Wi-Fi connection.


Nearest restaurant and food shop in Valgiano at 600 meters, or Matraia 1 km. Supermarket etc. at 3 km

    “Die Lage ist in den Bergen mit schönem Blick auf Lucca und das Tal. Es ist sehr ruhig. Im sehr schönem Garten findet man immer einen Platz in der Sonne oder auch Schatten. Man wird von den Hühnern vom Nachbarn geweckt. Das Haus ist sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Alles ist farblich abgestimmt und im italienisch, bäuerlich geschmackvollen Stil. Im Ort gibt es ein urigen Tante-Emma-Laden und ein Restaurant, beides ca. 1 km entfernt . Wenn man wandern und radfahren will, ist man hier richtig. Die Vermieterin ist sehr nett und spricht hervorragend englisch.
    Ein Doppelbett ist recht schmal.”

    “Das Haus liegt in einem kleinen Dorf in 2. Reihe an einer ruhigen Straße. Das Foto entspricht nicht den Gegebenheiten Privatsphäre ist aber gegeben.Es gibt einen Parkplatz im Schatten- die Auffahrt ist steil.Man muss aufpassen, das der Wagen nicht aussetzt. Wir fahren einen klassischen Kombi - keinen SUV.Der Ausblick auf das Tal von der schönen Terrasse ist wunderschön!Das Haus selber ist sehr schön renoviert und zum großen Teil auch geschmackvoll ausgestattet. Wobei ein Teil der Möbel schon mal bessere Zeiten gesehen hat ohne Antiquitäten zu sein. Es ist alles da, was macht braucht. Es gibt keinen Kleiderschrank nur Komoden. Kleidung aufhängen ist also nicht wirklich möglich. Da wir nur 1 Schlafzimmer genutzt haben, war das 2. „Ankleidezimmer“. Internetverbindung ist sehr schlecht! Man muss sich eine Stelle mit gutem Empfang suchen und auch dann ist es langsam.Das kostenlose WLAN funktioniert höchstens mal für ein paar Minuten am Tag !!!! Der kleine Lebensmittelmarkt im Ort hat alles wichtige im Sortiment. Unbedingt den selbst-gemachten Schinken probieren. Zusammenfassend also Licht und Schatten- für uns war Preis/ Leistung in Ordnung. Wir haben uns wohl gefühlt und gut erholt.”

    “Sehr liebevoll gestaltetes Ambiente im Inneren des großen Hauses. Wir hatten das Gefühl, bei Freunden, die uns ihre Wohnung überlassen, zu Gast zu sein. Es fehlte - vom freundlichen Empfang durch die sehr gut englisch sprechenden Vermieter angefangen - an nichts. Ein mögliches Manko könnte sein, dass der Blick auf die großartige Landschaft durch ein anderes Haus versperrt wird, auf dessen Rückseite sich die Ferienunterkunft befindet. Uns hat das nicht gestört, aber in der Präsentation wird dies nicht so richtig deutlich.”
