The Moselle valley is adjoined in one direction by the Eifel with its volcanic rock and pools, and in the other direction by the craggy Hunsrück with its famous gem town of Idar-Oberstein. The neighbouring country Luxembourg with its rocky landscape around Echternach basilica is less than an hour away, with many other places of interest.
