The holiday house is in an elevated location on a new, quiet villa estate with a view of the sea. The holiday house is far away from typical mass tourism. It is a semi-detached building. A second house is rented out long-term to a Greek family. The two houses are separated by a fence.



The holiday house of around 170m² is spread over two floors and can accommodate up to seven people. There are four bedrooms, two of which each have a double bed, one with a single bed, and the other with two single beds. There are also three bathrooms, of which two have a shower and one has a bath. One of the bathrooms has a washing machine. The living room on the upper floor has an open layout, with a modern kitchen, a dining space and a lounge area with a TV and a fireplace. Firewood can be used free of charge.



The gem of the holiday house ist he 90m² private terrace, from which you can enjoy a view of the sea. The terrace is spacious and furnished, so you can live outdoors. The octagonal swimming pool is in the interior courtyard and measures around 5 x 5 metres, with a depth of 1.2m. It is for your own exclusive use. You can park a car on site. There are other parking spaces near the holiday house by the side of the street.



The wireless Internet connection can be used free of charge. The owner can provide a cot and a highchair at no additional charge on request. Each bedroom and the living room have air conditioning. The holiday house is ideal for short stays, but can also be rented for longer periods. It is recognised officially and certified by the Greek Ministry of Tourism. The beaches in the north are about four kilometres from the holiday house. The town of Rethymnon is 9km away. It is only a short drive to shops and tavernas. The traditional village of Maroulas is a kilometre from the holiday house. The wider surroundings are rural. Farmers raise their sheep and harvest olives from the olive trees that grow everywhere. The holiday house is a great starting point for day trips. The owner is happy to provide recommendations.

    “Wir verbrachten im September/Oktober 2018 drei Wochen in diesem sehr schönen, ruhig gelegenen und mit allem Komfort ausgestatteten Ferienhaus. Highlight ist zweifelsohne die sehr große Terrasse mit weiten Blicken über das Meer, das nahe Dorf Maroulas und die Landschaft bis zu den Bergen. Der Service durch den sehr hilfsbereiten Vermieter und seine Mutter ist perfekt und sucht seinesgleichen. Der Kühlschrank war bei unserer Ankunft mit Wein, Bier, Obst und Gemüse gefüllt und im Ofen wartete ein leckerer Auflauf. Wir bekamen ein Navi und ein mobiles Internet Device. Zwischendurch wurde das Haus mehrfach gereinigt.
    Fazit: ein uneingeschränkt empfehlenswertes Ferienhaus mit hohem Wohlfühlfaktor.”

    “Wir waren im Juli / August 2018 im Ferienhaus. Wir wurden vom Gastgeber ganz herzlich empfangen und seine Mutter hat uns zur Begrüßung bekocht, so dass ab der ersten Minute die Erholung einsetzte. Zusätzlich standen gefüllte Käsetaschen auf dem Tisch und der Kühlschrank war mit Wasser, Melone, Gurken und Tomaten gefüllt. Brot, Koblauch und Olivenöl waren auch da. Vom selbstgemachten, wohlschmeckenden Raki ganz zu schweigen.
    Im Haus fehlte nichts. Es war alles vorhanden.

    Wir haben den Aufenthalt sehr genossen. Auf der sehr großen Dachterrasse mit dem herrlichen Ausblick haben wir so manchen lauschigen Abend bei Kerzenlicht genossen.

    Vom Vermieter erhielten wir ein deutschsprachiges Navi mit eingespeicherten Ausflugstipps, Strände, Tavernen, Supermärkte usw. Ein Klick genügte und schon ging die Fahrt los.

    Das Haus wurde während unseres 14-tägigen Aufenthalts zweimal geputzt sowie die Bettwäsche und die zahlreichen Handtücher gewechselt. Dabei wurde uns so einiges mitgebracht (z. B. Früchte). Der Vermieter stand jederzeit für Fragen und Ausflugstipps zur Verfügung.

    Uns fehlen für diesen Urlaub die Worte und die Superlative. Wenn jemand einen herrlichen Urlaub auf Kreta verbringen möchte, dann dort!”

    “Sehr gut ausgestattetes, geräumiges, modern eingerichtetes Ferienhaus. Es hat uns an nichts gefehlt. Die Gastfreundschaft des Vermieters hat unsere auf anderen Bewertungen basierenden Erwartungen noch übertroffen: Vom gefüllten Kühlschrank bei der Ankunft über jede Menge Ausflugstipps einschließlich deutschsprachigem Navigationsgerät bis hin zum Abschiedsgeschenk war an alles gedacht, was diesen Urlaub angenehm und unvergesslich gemacht hat. Diogenis war immer erreichbar und hat uns schnell und unkompliziert geholfen. Unser Ferienhaus (Diogenis Home) liegt nicht direkt in Maroulas sondern einen Kilometer vom Ortskern entfernt. 5 Tavernen sind innerhalb von 15 Minuten zu Fuß erreichbar. Nächste Einkaufsmöglichkeit ist ca. 3 km entfernt am Fuß des Hangs in Platanes, wo man aber auf dem Weg zum Strand sowieso vorbeikommt. Hier gibt es eine große Auswahl an Restaurants und Geschäften”
