Seven comfortable, characteristic apartments in the medieval hamlet of Proceno, whose origins date back to the Etruscan era. The town of Proceno (once on the border between the Papal States and the Grand Duchy of Tuscany) is in the area where Tuscany, Umbria and Lazio meet. A short distance away are the spectacular landscapes of the Val d'Orcia, with its many towns and hamlets, some of which are also renowned for their thermal baths (San Casciano dei Bagni, Bagno Vignoni, Sorano, Saturnia, etc.). The apartments in the old hamlet sit in the shade of the historic 16th fortress, which has been completely renovated and today houses cultural events. Below the town walls there is a large park of about 2 hectares and a pool at guests' disposal. The apartments have welcoming interiors, and each offers a fireplace and a small, private equipped outdoor space.
This unique property is directly managed by the owners, who in addition to the apartments and the fortress also have an original, characteristic restaurant-wine bar inside of the town (during the summer season the restaurant moves to the park, next to the pool). The castle organizes music festivals and events dedicated to Proceno's history along the Via Francigena (that connected Europe to Rome).
This property is ideal for those looking for a comfortable place to stay in town that has the outdoor spaces of a house in the country.
Distances: Proceno with food shops steps away, Acquapendente with shops of all kinds 6 km, San Casciano dei Bagni (renowned thermal baths) 21 km away, Lake Bolsena 25 km, Orvieto 35 km away, Pienza 50 km, Viterbo 60 km away, Siena 90 km, Rome 160 km (easily reached via daily train connections from Orvieto station).
At guests' disposal: large park of about 2 hectares with a beautiful pool (12 x 6 m - depth 1,6 m - open from 15/05 to 15/09) shared by guests of the 7 apartments and 3 suites (not shown in the program, availability and prices upon request). During the summer season the owners' restaurant-wine bar is housed in the park near the pool.
Each apartment has an outdoor space, hair dryer, safe, telephone (to be paid according to use) and free Wi-Fi internet connection.
Public parking and private parking within the park.
Extra services: Baby bed available free of charge. Maid service available € 10/hour (to be paid on the spot); laundry service (wash, dry and iron). Cooking classes and tastings can be organized. Upon request it is also possible to rent the 3 suites located near the apartments (prices available upon request).

“Liebevoll eingerichtetes Appartment. Nicht ganz billig aber mit einer wunderschönen Parkanlage und gepflegtem Pool. Die Vermieterin ist eine charmante und wirklich herzliche Gastgeberin! Sollte sie eine private Besichtigung der historischen Burganlage anbieten: undbedingt zusagen! Es erwartet sie eine liebevollst in Stand gehaltene Burg inkl. funktionierender Zugbrücke und jede Menge Geschichten zur Familientradition und zur Geschichte der Region.”
