Quaint Holiday Home in Bouillon Ardennes

Located high in the Ardennes hills, this holiday home in Bouillon dates back to the early 20th century with antique yet comfortable interiors. The wooden staircase, leading to the 2 upper floors with 4 bedrooms, lends a fairytale vibe, making it perfect for a large family with children. The owners also allow up to 1 pet, free of charge.

The house presents a cheerful view of the town of Bouillon, the Semois river and the famous castle of Godfrey of Bouillon. The forest next door provides picturesque trails. The town centre, 1 km away, is a 10-min walk uphill and offers a variety of restaurants and daily supplies. The medieval Château de Bouillon is easily accessible and definitely worth a visit. Besides the rustic furnishings, the house boasts of central heating for the cold evenings, and a barbecue which makes sunny afternoons better.

The nearest airport is in Luxembourg, 120 km away, and is over an hour by road.

Note: The bottom of the garden is not accessible, for safety reasons, as a wall is badly damaged. Work is planned in the spring to rebuild this wall.

    “Wir haben das Haus mit 8 Erwachsenen und 2 Kindern (3 Jahre) über Ostern besucht. Es handelt sich um ein sehr altes Gebäude in einem teils schlechten Erhaltungszustand.

    Die Fenster im oberen Stockwerk sind zugig, dieses Stockwerk ist dadurch kaum zu heizen. Einer der 4 Schlafräume weist im gesamten Deckenbereich einen extrem starken Schimmelbefall auf (das darüberliegende Dach scheint undicht zu sein und so konnte Feuchtigkeit eindringen). Wir haben uns entschieden dieses Zimmer nicht zu nutzen und waren daher gezwungen mit 4 Personen in einem der anderen Zimmer zu übernachten. 2 Personen mussten auf dem Boden schlafen, da durch den Wegfall des Zimmers auch nicht genügen Betten zur Verfügung standen. In einigen der Übrigen Zimmern befinden sich leicht feuchte Stellen an der Decke.

    Diese Beschreibung soll nicht darüber hinwegtäuschen, dass es sich ansonsten um ein interessantes Gebäude, in sehr schöner Lage handelt. Der Kamin ist ein Traum, der Blick von Esstisch zur Burg ist sensationell. Die Küche ist vollständig und zweckmässig eingerichtet.
