Country house with a great view of the quiet and charming Sumène

This house lies at an altitude of around 350 metres in a quiet location and near Sumène in the south of France.

You can spend a pleasant holiday in this 130m² country house, which is suitable for up to nine people. There are four bedrooms in total, all spacious and comfortably furnished. Three of these bedrooms are on the upper floor. Two of them have two single beds joined together as a double bed and the third has a smaller double bed. There are also two bathrooms on this floor. The ground floor has a fully-equipped kitchen with a big fridge and a oven, a living room and a further bathroom, as well as another bedroom and another small kitchen.

In front of the house there is a terrace with a view of the surrounding mountains and the locality. It is also ideal for having breakfast outdoors. The view is wonderful and the area is quiet and charming. At the end of the site there is a path that leads along the river as far as Rieutord. Parking spaces are available on site.

This house is an old stone house from the late 19th century with its own water source. The house was restored in 1995 and extended. It can be used as two parts with separate entrances, each with two bedrooms, a bathroom and a kitchen with a cooking niche.

Enjoy the many activities in the area: hiking in the Cévennes National Park, the Massif Mont Aigoual with a weather station, canoeing, swimming in rivers, descending into caves, pristine forests and picturesque villages. The Mediterranean Sea is about an hour away. Sumène is an old fortification and lies at an altitude of 250 metres.

    “Zwei der drei Doppelzimmer sind sehr schön und sehr geräumig. Das Einzelzimmer und der Schlafbereich in einer Nische sind beide sehr klein, aber nett. Oberflächlich war alles zumeist sauber, aber Schränke mussten vor dem Einräumen von uns erst ausgewischt werden und das Geschirr durchgespült werden. Die beiden Tische im Esszimmer und auf der Terrasse sind eher für 6 bis 7 als für 9 Personen ausgelegt. Geschirr ist ausreichend vorhanden, Die Anfahrt zum Haus ist recht abenteuerlich, zumal mit einem etwas breiteren Auto. Ich bin morgens in den Ort gelaufen, um Brot zu kaufen, den Rückweg kann man durchaus als sportliche Aufgabe ansehen. Die Lage des Ferienhauses am Hang ist sehr schön, es war sehr ruhig und erholsam. Wir haben einen schönen Urlaub verbracht mit vielen interessanten Ausflügen und Wanderungen.”

    “Das Ferienhaus liegt außerhalb von Sumene auf einer Anhöhe. Die Anfahrt zum Haus ist etwas abenteuerlich mit einer Steigung von bis zu 20%. Ist man angekommen erlebt man einen herrlichen Ausblick. Das Haus hat entsprechend seinem Alter einen rustikalen Flair und ist zum Urlaub machen vollständig eingerichtet. Drei Doppelschlafzimmer sind vollwertig; alle weiteren Betten sind als Zusatzbetten z.B. für Kinder gedacht.
    Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis stimmt. Die Grundsauberkeit war gegeben; da und dort waren jedoch die eine oder andere Spinnwebe zu entdecken. Dies ist wohl auch der Größe des Hauses geschuldet. Im Großen und Ganzen haben wir uns sehr wohl gefühlt.”
