Small studio with a great view of the sea and the yacht harbour

This studio apartment in an elevated location and with a great sea view is in Banyuls-sur-Mer in the south of France, just a few hundred metres from the sea.



The studio with 31m² of living space is on a slope in a big and imaginatively-built apartment complex, Les Hauts du Fontaule, which was built in 1992, with stairs and archways throughout. The apartment is white, with brown tiled floors, and consists of a room with a cooking niche, a bathroom and a big terrace. The bathroom has a toilet, shower and washbasin. The kitchen is conveniently equipped with two cooking rings, a microwave, a coffee machine and a sink. There is ample crockery and some herbs, tea, pasta and rice are provided in the pantry. There is also a fridge with a freezer compartment.



The living room has a sofa bed for two people and an additional inflatable mattress for two people, with an electric pump to go with it. The accommodation also provides a kitchen table with chairs, an e-piano, a CD/cassette/radio player, cupboards, drawers, bedside tables and a wardrobe.



The terrace with a great view of the sea is bathed in sunlight from morning to evening. A table and four chairs with cushions are provided. There is also a clothes horse for hand towels and swimwear. The entrance to the terrace consists of big glass sliding doors and wooden doors that can be locked. The apartment also has a private parking space.



You can rent a comfortable studio in the vineyard on the lower slopes of the Pyrenees, which form the border to Spain. It is just a couple of hundred metres to the beach and to the promenade with its cafés, restaurants and bars, so everything you need is within walking distance. Here you can also find the town centre with specialised shops for fish, bread, fruit, meat, vegetables, wine etc. and a proper supermarket. The area around Banyuls is the sunniest and warmest on the French mainland. The summer is hot and dry, while the winter months (January-February) have more rainfall and are cooler. The warmest period is from June to September, with temperatures around 30°C during the day and a little cooler at night. In May and October it is warm and mellow.

    “Es war sauber in der Wohnung, es ist nicht luxuriös und klein, doch es reicht voll aus. Man hält sich kaum in der Wohnung auf im Urlaub. Und die Aussicht vom Balkon ist einfach nur traumhaft.”

    “Die Lage ist gut, etwa 300 m vom Meer entfernt, davon 200 m bergab. Der Ausblick vom Balkon ist super. Die angegebenen 31 m² sind wahrscheinlich inklusive Balkon, denn drinnen ist das Appartement mit der ausgeklappten Schlafcouch voll. Die Ausstattung ist einfach, aber es war sauber. Das Piano vollkommen überflüssig, da man es sowieso nicht benutzen darf. Die Küchenzeile mit dem zwei Platten Elektrokocher, ist um Frühstück machen geeignet. Etwas umständlich erschien mir die Schlüsselübergabe per Post zugeschickt und auch so zurückgeschickt, aber es hat alles bestens geklappt. Auch die Kautionsabwicklung verlief problemlos.
