The Methuselah among our homes has seen 120 years passing by without being overly impressed. During extensive renovations we left untouched the basic substance, and so the breath of the past still blows through the patient walls. This cottage is a good choice for every gourmet who wants to spice up his experience with a dash of Romanian tradition.



The living quarters are located upstairs. A staircase leads out to the hallway, which was added to the house in a typical construction. Both the shower room (2 sqm) and the eat-in kitchen (14 sqm) are entered through the hallway. The kitchen is completely equipped for self-catering with a fridge, gas stove, coffee maker and espresso machine, toaster, kettle, spices, washer and more. Upon request, we provide you with breakfast, traditional menus or farm products from the village. The room (18 sqm) is entered through the kitchen. It is equipped with a double bed, TV set (international channels), Wi-Fi Internet access and plants. Three windows open up the room and the view out onto the village's rooftops. An extra bed is available. On arrival, you will find the bed freshly made, hand and bath towels, shower gel and soap are also available. The entire interior was chosen with care and is relatively new, including kitchen and sanitation facilities, linen an mattress. To heat the rooms you use the tiled stove in the kitchen, firewood for free. Additionally, an electrical infrared panel will start up at no additional costs for you.



The enclosed courtyard is a leafy feast. Here you can relax on a covered patio, uncork a bottle of wine or unpack the card game. Or you leave the courtyard behind, follow the course of the creek and you already find yourself on the way up to the mountain meadows surrounded by a healthy mixed forest.

Also farm products from the village are available, such as: fresh milk straight from the udder, goat or sheep's cheese, forest honey and homemade jam, canned vegetables, Zakusca, wine and schnapps. • On request: Laptop, phone, shopping prior to your arrival, osteopathic treatment, riding horse, cot, rides in a donkey cart for children. • Tip: trip to our shepherds hut (Cozo Fantu) in the high meadows. Without any comfort but with lots of fresh mountain air for stressed lungs. A source emerges a stone's throw away, the cherries hanging in the trees, and cheese and milk you can get from the shepherd next door. See advices to other destinations below in this description. We aren't trained tourism experts. We are living in Vale and have joined together in a small and family-type construction company. After eight years of work we put trowels and saws aside for a while, breathe a sigh and dedicate ourselves to our guests. Today, at least two families and a number of villagers benefit from the fruits of this work. We foster a climate of openness and equality-based relationships. Be sure to find peace and relaxation here. Our homes are located on the village outskirts. Though in autumn the silence may be disturbed by the occasional rattle of a chainsaw, we daresay that your perception of peace and tranquility will change soon. You might find that it includes the songs of the birds in the morning, the roosters crowing, the donkey’s brays and all the other distinctive sounds. By leaving behind some advantages and disadvantages of civilization, you can hang ten and experience new thoughts popping up in your mind out of nowhere. Your temporary home will provide you a cozy ambience in fresh mountain air, you’ll be sleeping like a bear in his den. .

    “Das Haus liegt wunderschön an einer Anhöhe im Dorf. Es ist komplett ausgestattet, wir konnten waschen und kochen, kurz, alle Haushaltsdinge, die eine Wohnung benötigt, waren vorhanden und in einem sehr gutem Zustand. Die Wohnung war auffällig sauber bei der Übergabe, die Küche war blitzblank. Es ist ein altes Haus in traditioneller Bauweise, das aufwändig modernisiert wurde, hat aber auch einen Ofen mit Holzfeuerung, sehr gemütlich im Herbst. Besonders hervorzuheben ist die außergewöhnlich gute Betreuung durch den Hausverwalter und den Vermieter, die jederzeit ansprechbar sind. Wir haben uns dort rundum wohlgefühlt und kommen sicher wieder.”
