The history of the „Alten Winzerhauses am Calmont“

Our charming winegrower's house, whose main building dates back to the mid-19th century and the outbuilding even to the 16th century, is a testimony to the rich history of this region. Although the exact origins of the house are lost in the mists of time, this adds to its mystical charm.

The house was one of the first in the area to be fitted with central heating, underlining its progressive nature in times gone by. Despite the house's chequered history, including the difficulty of tracing its ownership, it has been lovingly passed down in our family for generations.

The extensive vaulted cellars beneath the house and much of the outbuildings have long been used to store barrels of wine, reflecting the house's deep roots in the wine tradition of the area.

A special feature is the front of the outbuilding, which has been renovated in the style of the 16th century and is a listed building. This emphasizes the historical and architectural significance of the property. Over the last five to ten decades, the building has been used as a winery, making the Winzerhaus am Calmont an essential part of the local winegrowing history.

With an impressive size of approx. 93m² and located in the historic core of an old winegrower's house, this residence is the perfect starting point for wine lovers, active holidaymakers and families.

As soon as you enter, you are greeted by a spacious hallway that harmoniously connects the individual rooms. The separate living room, flooded with a warm and inviting atmosphere, offers the ideal place to relax after a long day in the surrounding vineyards or a cycle tour along the enchanting Moselle. In the kitchen, tradition meets modernity, inspiring you to create culinary delights using regional wines and products.

The three spacious bedrooms guarantee rest and relaxation for young and old. One of the rooms has a cosy 140×200 cm bed, perfect for singles or couples. The other two bedrooms each offer a spacious 180×200 cm bed, ideal for a restful night's sleep. After an eventful day, be it an extended wine tasting in one of the local wineries or a family outing in the unspoilt countryside, you will find a place of rest in these cosy beds.

The 4m² balcony not only offers a breathtaking view of the Moselle and its surroundings, but also provides an idyllic place of contemplation, ideal for enjoying the sunset over the vineyards in all its splendour. And the low ceilings of this spacious jewel? They contribute significantly to the unmistakable feel-good character, create a cosy atmosphere and are perfect for late-night family chats or relaxed evenings with a glass of wine.
