Ideally located in the heart of the Occitanie region, in a quiet district of Albi, our gîte is a restored former market-garden farmhouse, an island of nature in the city, a space of peace and tranquillity well separated from the street. It sleeps 8 people in four bedrooms.
Just a 25-minute walk (or 10-minute cycle ride) from the Cathédrale Sainte-Cécile and the historic centre, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, our gîte is also a 10-minute walk from the shops in the Madeleine district, the train station, the Atlantis aquatic complex and the Mazicou stadium, and 10 minutes from the "Sentier des Mineurs" greenway.
At the end of the street, bus stops, free shuttle bus to the town centre. Shopping centre 1km away.
The region is within easy reach: Cordes sur Ciel, the Pays des Bastides, the hilltop villages and the Gaillac vineyards are just 20 minutes away, as is the Tarn valley, Ambialet and Occitan Tuscany. A little further afield, you can visit Graulhet, Lavaur, the village of Lautrec, the Sidobre or the Montagne Noire...
There are plenty of cultural, sporting and gastronomic activities to choose from, and many festivals in the surrounding area throughout the year: there's always a good reason to come to Albi!
We'd be delighted to share our favourites with you, as well as our favourite hiking and swimming spots.
The gîte has a 600 m² natural garden with parking available. There's a large outdoor table, garden furniture, hammock and barbecue.
The south-facing, covered and shaded terrace lets you enjoy the outdoors all year round, summer and winter alike.
On the ground floor :
- a new, fully-equipped kitchen (20 m²) opens directly onto the terrace. Dishwasher, fridge/freezer, induction hob, oven, microwave, small electrical appliances and washing machine in the utility room.
- On the other side, a living room (30 m²) with comfortable sofas around the fireplace lets you cool off in the heat, or spend the evening around the fire in the cold... a desk area lets you write your memoirs or postcards, an old-fashioned practice that is still possible!
Upstairs:
- a 25 m² sitting area with a sofa bed,
- a bathroom (bath + shower, wc, washbasin),
