The must-see market in Violès is located on Cours Rigot and takes place regularly on Wednesdays. You can usually shop from 8am. Violès is on the Côtes-du-Rhône wine route, dotted with lovely mountain villages and restaurants. Nearby is Séguret, one of the most beautiful medieval villages in France. Gigondas and Vacqueyras are known for the richness of their vineyards. Sablet offers lovely, shady and flowery alleys. Also, discover Avignon, whose core is ringed by a perfectly preserved fortification, and stroll through Orange, with its Arc de Triomphe at the city gates and an amphitheater that provides a fitting setting each summer for the Les Chorégies opera festival. Children will find entertainment in the many surrounding theme parks, the Crocodile Farm, Wave Island, the Visiatome or Parc Spirou. For the active, the hiking trails at the foot of the Dentelles de Montmirail, Mont Ventoux and Luberon, just a stone's throw away, are a real highlight. Or opt for mountain biking and horseback riding.
