Relax in this stunning French Provencal house by the sea. The house has been lovingly renovated, with wooden floors, and white walls, for a feeling of well-being and calm.

Take advantage of the proximity to the beach and the still wild seaside. The house is located at the end of a dead end, a somewhat secret place, a true haven of calm.

La Bastide de l'Olivaie is located in the residential district of Capelan, at the start of the coastal path towards Saint-Cyr. one of the most beautiful places in Bandol.

The city center and its nightlife are 20 minutes away on foot. A small supermarket, bakery and restaurant are just a five-minute walk away.

Bandol was one of the first seaside resorts in France, and remains today among the most authentic and pleasant in the Var and the Côte d'Azur. Its beaches, its wild creeks, its port, its beautiful walks by the sea, and its traditional Provençal market.


A microclimate with a mild off-season, so many advantages for spending relaxing holidays away from the crowds and the season, while enjoying another facet of the city and the region.

The art exhibition halls, the shows at the Jules Vernes room and the media library, the long walks along the customs officers' path which runs along the coast to Saint Cyr sur Mer on the side of the cliff.

    “Die Ferienwohnung in Bandol ist einfach perfekt! Wir hatten einen wunderschönen Urlaub mit unserem Hund und konnten ihn ganz nach unseren Vorstellungen gestalten. Die Wohnung war sauber, klein aber fein. Wir waren dort zu zweit mit unserem Hund und fanden die Größe ausreichend. Es gab ein Zimmer mit zwei Einzelbetten, welches wir nicht genutzt haben. Aber für 5 Personen wäre die Wohnung definitiv zu klein... Vor allem die kleine Pantryküche lässt kein Zubereiten von riesen Mahlzeiten für 5 Personen zu, denn es gibt nur 2 Herdplatten und einen Mikrowellenofen darunter. Im Frühjahr haben noch viele Restaurants geschlossen, andernfalls wäre auch dies kein Problem.
    Wie auch immer - für uns war es super! Wir waren im Erdgeschoss und hatten eine große Terasse mit Sitzmöglichkeiten, Sonnenschirm und Liegestühlen. Das war natürlich auch für unseren Hund angenehm...

    Die Umgebung ist der absolute Traum!!!
    Einmal die Einfahrt runtergelaufen und schon hat man das schönste Stück Küste mit Steinstrand vor Augen - die Presqu'ile de Capelan. Ein kleiner Strand, der im Sommer zum Baden einlädt. Dort findet sich auch ein Restaurant, welches wir nicht bewerten konnten, da es noch geschlossen hatte.
    Neben dem Strand findet sich der Parc du Capelan. Viel interessanter als der Parc ist jedoch der schöne Küstenweg dorthin und weiter am Tennisplatz vorbei, die Eindrücke und der sagenhafte Ausblick zogen mich täglich in ihren Bann! Zudem eine wunderbare Gassistrecke für den Hund....

    Folgt man dem Weg an der Küste entlang weiter, so finden sich weitere kleine Sternstunde und dann auch ein schöner Sandstrand, der zum verweilen einlädt (zumindest im Frühling, da noch wenig los war, im Sommer wird der Andrang bestimmt groß sein).

    Läuft man von dort noch ein wenig weiter, so gelangt man zur Hafenpromenade, an dem es viele kleine Läden zum Shoppen gibt und - viel wichtiger - täglich ein kleinen Markt mit frischem Obst und Gemüse, sowie jeden Dienstag einen großen Markt mit allerlei Köstlichkeiten, Kleidung und Accessoires.

    In der Nähe des Hafens gibt es auch einen Hundestrand, welchen wir eigentlich besuchen wollten, allerdings ist der winzig und unser Hund war zu aufgeregt, da so viele Hude dort waren (und alle freilaufend, während er als Junghund noch viel zu lernen hat).
    Wir konnten mit ihm auch problemlos an die anderen Strände, die dies eigentlich verbieten, allerdings vermute ich, dass dies an der Jahreszeit lag. Im Sommer wird man da wohl weniger Glück haben.

    Doch läuft man von der Ferienwohnung nach rechts an der Küste entlang, findet sich dort eine schöne, steinige Wanderroute, die einen auch zu einem schön natürlichen Strandabschnitt führt, an welchem wohl auch Hunde zugelassen sind - dort können sich die Vierbeiner austoben und auch die Menschen kommen auf ihre Kosten!

    Auch Supermärkte, Bäckerei und Apotheke finden sich in der Nähe der Bastide - wobei wir immer das Auto genommen haben. Doch kann man sich die Lebensmittel sogar nach Hause liefern lassen!

    All diese Informationen bekommt man von den Gastgebern sowohl in einem netten Briefumschlag präsentiert, als auch online über eine Gästewebsite in der sich allerlei Nützliches zur Wohnung und Umgebung finden lässt.

    Alles in allem können wir die Bastide de l'olivaie nur empfehlen und wären am liebsten gar nicht abgereist...
