Situated close to the sandy beach amid lush greenery and a private vineyard, the charming traditional “Villa Marqua” not only offers its guests fantastic views of the Aegean sea and the surrounding countryside, but also a unique taste of Rhodian rural life ensuring an enjoyable and memorable holiday experience. Villa Marqua is located at the village of Fanes, at a distance of 26 km from the town of Rhodes and 13 km from the airport. It is positioned half way down the northwest coast of Rhodes thus offering fast and easy access to the numerous places of interest on this beautiful Dodecanese island. The large sandy beach of Fanes is just 3 km away from the property, and while the sea here is not very deep, it is ideal for children. It is also perfect for sea sport lovers as there is a kite surfing school on the same beach.



The interior of Villa Marqua includes two enchanting bedrooms fashioned in the customary island style with traditional handmade king size beds offering their occupants the tranquility and rest they need on their vacation. An open-plan room includes a spacious lounge area with fireplace, stereo sound system and flat screen television for countless moments of relaxation, as well as a fully equipped country style kitchen where our guests are invited to try out their culinary skills. A cozy rustic dining area is located in the same space.



Outside the villa, a large shady veranda with a view to the sea makes al fresco dining or evening drinks a delight. In the front yard, a perfectly decked out BBQ area with a traditional village oven is at the disposal of our guests. At the entrance of the property there is ample space for car parking, and next to the driveway there are lawns where one can play volleyball or other fun sports, enjoy a nap in the hammock, or soak in the sun on the loungers.



Villa Marqua has been built and maintained exclusively by its owner. All interventions and modifications on the building and property in general have been carried out with love and in good taste. Great efforts have been made so the property blends in without spoiling the natural surroundings and consequently, our guests can enjoy an unforgettable sojourn in an unspoiled natural environment. The property is fenced off ensuring necessary privacy from the outside world. At Villa Marqua, guests can enjoy a wonderful view to the fruit grove, vegetable garden and especially our vineyard of Cabernet, Syrah and Merlot grapes, all cultivated organically. The vine harvest and wine making at our own winery takes place in the first fortnight of September each year. Our guests are welcome to participate in the whole wine making process and taste our delicious red wine, „Marqua“, as well.



The advantage position of Villa Marqua on the northwest coast of Rhodes is at equal distances from the renowned and must-see tourist sights such as the New and Old Town of Rhodes, Kallithea, Faliraki, Lindos and the Valley of the Butterflies. The ancient city of Kamiros, one of the three ancient cities of the island of Rhodes, is just 5 km away. Kamiros is one of the most ancient settlements built by the Dorians on three levels. A systematic excavation of the area together with restoration work began in 1928 by the Italian Archaeological School and continued until the end of the Second World War. A public bus stop is set on the main road about 800 meters away from the property and a ride to the town of Rhodes just takes 30 minutes. For more active visitors, especially families and those wanting to explore the island, it is recommended that they hire a car for easier and faster travelling. The quaint little village of Fanes is located only 2 km away. Following the private initiative of its inhabitants in 2011, the village underwent renovation where by 72 of its houses were painted in multiple bright colors. The result was that the village has been transformed into a living work of art. At the village there is a supermarket which mostly sells local products, and a pharmacy. On the main road, conveniently close to Villa Marqua, there is a petrol station. At the beach of Fanes and along the coast north and south of the Villa, visitors can discover tavernas that serve fresh fish or meat dishes or can relax over refreshments at a nearby garden bar. At the disposal of our guests at Villa Marqua, there are two mountain bicycles which they can use to ride on dirt tracks around the fields surrounding the villa. We will gladly give them instructions about destinations they could explore.
