The Wollhaus Oberzwirgi was built as a stall at the end of the 19th century and expanded into a small house. The land was cultivated with sheep and donkeys. Then came the idea to remodel the house completely using wool. In summer 2015 the renovation began. The house was gutted and the interior newly designed. The philosophy: To show the variety of ways in which wool can be used became the central theme of this phase. The following aspects were particularly important: Only wool from their own production was used by the family who owns it. The insulation of outer and inner walls, as well as the attic, consists of wool. A small window in the wall shows what it looks like. Each room shows the story of sheep and their wool and how it can be used in a different way. The contents of the beds ar 100% wool, of course. 1 bedroom with 2 beds, 1 bedroom with 3 beds, a sofa-bed for 1 person in the living room. No direct driveway to house. The parking is located 150m away from Wollhaus Oberzwirgi. The house can be reached on foot by a good hiking path.

    “Uns hat es sehr gefallen, wir haben auch viel über Wolle gelernt. Positiv: Ruhig, sauber, stilvoll eingerichtet, nette Vermieterfamilie, zuverlässig, alles hat funktioniert. Negativ: Nichts Restaurant: Panoramarestaurant Alpen Tower Planplatten - Frühstücksbrunch Ausflüge: Alle Wanderwege sind top, z.B. Meiringen- Roselaui - Viel im Schatten, abwechslungsreich”

    “Comme je l'ai déjà dit à la propriétaire, il serait agréable de pouvoir avoir des peignoirs de bain pour se rendre à la sauna ou dans le hotspot. Positiv: le chalet se situe en pleine nature, isolé mais quand même proche d'un restaurant, si on n'a pas envie de cuisiner.
    La nature environnante est magnifique ainsi que la vue. Le chalet est très confortable et la cuisine possède tout le nécessaire pour bien cuisiner. L'accueil des propriétaires est très sympa et ils sont très attentifs à ne pas déranger pendant notre séjour. La laine de leurs moutons est utilisée aussi bien comme isolant, que comme duvets et oreillers, couvertures, pantoufles et décorations. Negativ: aucune”

    “Der Aufenthalt über Weihnachten war perfekt. Der Empfang durch Ruth war sehr herzlich. Positiv: Die Lage und die Ruhe sind genial. Die Aussicht zum Hasliberg sehr schön. Das Haus ist im Winter bei -8Grad kuschelig und gemütlich. Negativ: Alles bestens!”
