STUNNING PENTHOUSE WITH PANORAMIC VIEW

Prestigious contemporary-style penthouse in the heart of the historic center of Catania, declared UNESCO heritage. With an amazing and unique view of the Ursino Castle, the emblematic monument of the city of Catania built by Frederick II of Swabia and dating back to the 13th century, and of Etna (north side).


The penthouse was renovated by the owner - an architect by profession -, conceived with a modern spirit and for a contemporary lifestyle, with particular attention to the quality of materials and decorative details, as well as comfort and energy saving, with the objective of also preserving the tradition and historical nature of the place and the building.


The penthouse develops as a large open space around the garden terrace with a unique and exclusive view of the medieval castle. Large windows allow for great light throughout the day and the quality of the glass used allows for adequate thermal and acoustic insulation. Priority has been given to internal comfort in the design, therefore high thermal insulation is guaranteed both in summer and winter, as well as an efficient heating and air conditioning system with constant temperature control and low heat loss. Particular attention has also been given to the interiors with many custom-designed furniture and other components of high international design.


Located on the second floor of a building dating back to 1900, this apartment is spread over two levels: on the first level there is a living area with a large open space lounge, relaxation area with projector and surround sound system (Netflix and Amazon Prime) and a dining area for six people. On the same level, there is an entrance area with a direct view of the terrace and the castle, a large kitchen, and a bathroom with fine decorations. The garden terrace, visible from the whole space, is equipped with a table and benches/chairs providing the perfect setting for dinners and for relaxing moments sipping a glass of wine or reading a book in the hammock. The medieval castle backdrop creates the perfect backdrop.


We supply all the linen necessary for your stay (sheets and towels) sterilized and industrially washed. The cleaning of the premises is carried out using disinfectant products and by a qualified and experienced professional.


The privileged position of the structure in the historic center of Catania, close to the main attractions of the city, makes your stay comfortable, elegant and convenient; an ideal base from which to explore the south/eastern side of Sicily. Even without a car (the bus station is 5 minutes walk) you can visit Syracuse, Ragusa, Noto, Marzamemi, Vendicari nature reserve, Piazza Armerina, Pantalica, Taormina, Agrigento, Messina and Acireale and Palermo directly.


Near our structure there is the Roman amphitheater, the Roman baths of Achilles, Roman thermal baths, the Benedictine monastery (the second largest in Europe at the time of construction), Piazza Duomo (the main square), and the Cathedral; not to mention the famous fish market (La pescheria, 3 minutes away) and fresh food, Via Etnea, the Bellini Park, Via Crociferi (symbol of the Baroque in the world), the Amenano river (which flows under the city and re-emerges in some points), the well of Gammazita (scenario of ancient legends), Teatro Bellini (opera house with exceptional acoustics) and much more.


The area where the building is located is an important gastronomic center of the city.

A short ride on public transport (or by car) will take you in a few minutes to a sandy beach (south) or rocky beach of volcanic origin (north).

Etna can be reached in about 40 minutes by car or bus (departure from the central bus station).

The Castello Ursino area is a very central area, very close to the Piazza del Duomo and the extraordinary historical market full of colours, smells and .... flavours! The whole area is affected by a great vitality both during the day (commercial area) and in the evening, a food and wine centre with a great offer of restaurants. Staying in this area means you absolutely do not need a car because everything is very close and reachable with a simple walk.
