Amazing View Villa "Draouna", Agios Sostis, Tinos

Villa Draouna is located in a quiet neighborhood of Agios Sostis area, 5km from the port and town (Hora) of Tinos and just 80m from the splendid beach of Agios Sostis. It is furnished and decorated according to the traditional Cycladic style offering all the modern comforts. It features privileged verandas with amazing and unlimited view of the endless sunny blue Aegean and five Cycladic islands where you can enjoy your breakfast or spend evening moments of relaxation with a cocktail in the light of the summer full moon and the nightlife of the illuminated cosmopolitan Mykonos. A great experience of escape for a group of friends or families with children for dreamy and unforgettable holidays.



THE HOUSE

This 100 sqm sunny villa is just 80 meters away from the most spectacular beach on the island, the sandy beach of Agios Sostis. It can accommodate up to 8 guests and is fully equipped and built in the traditional Cycladic style, surrounded by large windows, doors and patios providing ample natural light in all indoor building space. It is elegantly decorated with works of art by local and foreign artists.

The house is built in two levels, the ground floor and the upstairs. The ground floor consists of an open space that includes a comfortable living room with a corner fireplace, a spacious fully equipped kitchen and a dining area for 8 guests. In living room there are two spacious sofas, cable TV while three large windows provide plenty of natural light and amphitheatrically views of the bay of Agios Sostis. A window that opens to the courtyard of the house and a balcony door that opens onto a beautiful terrace with sea view, provide plenty of natural light in the kitchen and dining area as well. A bedroom with a comfortable queen-size bed with a window and balcony door that opens to the back yard of the house, along with a bathroom with shower completes the composition of the ground floor space.

A spacious interior marble built staircase leads upstairs where you will find two spacious sunny bedrooms and a large bathroom with bathtub. Both bedrooms are equipped with a super king-size bed and an extra bunk bed in the second. With separate patio doors open to a spacious privileged goddess terrace with wooden pergola, fitted with patio tables and matching sofas and chairs to enjoy the endless sunny blue of Aegean or the light of summer full moon. A window in the bathroom provides natural light in the room. The washing machine is on the same site.

The whole house is air-conditioned. A ceiling fun is available in the kitchen and dining area. Free internet, and Wi-Fi access is everywhere available. Hot water for bathrooms and kitchen facilities is always available.

Villa is surrounded by a courtyard and a garden of 250 square meters featuring an outdoor shower to wash your body from the sand and the sea water and salt, a barbecue with the all necessary facilities and a comfortable wooden large table for your outdoor activities. A wooden spacious pergola covers the barbecue and dining area providing shade when needed. The Garden with flowers, small trees and aromatic shrubs completes the picture of the exterior of the house, thus making it an ideal environment where groups of friends or families with children who will visit us, will relax and enjoy unforgettable moments.

 

AGIOS SOSTIS NEIGHBOURHOOD

The beautiful and picturesque chapel of Agios Sostis is situated at the base of a small peninsula, of about 80 meters wide, separating two coasts with different geomorphology. The first is the splendid sandy beach of Agios Sostis, located to the north of peninsula, an ideal and favorite place for all guests, but especially suitable for families with children, where they can safely enjoy swimming in the crystal clear waters of the bay. The second coastline, located to the south of peninsula, is a rocky shoreline also suitable for swimming but mostly ideal for water sports such as surfing and / or snorkeling. 

Villa is situated on the slope of a small hill resting at sea. The view from the house is breathtaking. It overlooks the Aegean region enclosed by the islands of Tinos, Mykonos, Delos and Rhenia, which, according to ancient Greek mythology, but also some recent academic studies, is one of the brightest in the sunlight areas of the Mediterranean. This intense solar brilliance, known from ancient times as the "Apollonian Light", has attracted our ancestors from all over Greece to visit the area to experience its benefits. So they traveled to Delos to remain in this holy place with the intense splendor of the sun-life, believing that they would have beneficial effects on their physical and spiritual well-being.

Agios Sostis is the best destination in Tinos because of its proximity to the port and town (Hora) of Tinos where there are all kinds of facilities (supermarkets, pharmacies, banks, fast food, traditional restaurants etc) as well as due to its central location as it is the best starting point to visit the sights and the traditional villages of the island either by car or through the famous footpaths network for walkers and nature lovers.

Tinos has been called the “Island of Art and Beauty”, as it is full of architectural masterpieces. It is gifted by nature for its rare sorts of stone and marble but also for its environment, which favors and stimulates the artistic inclination of human beings. It is an island still quite unspoiled with 43 active villages, more than 800 country churches, 600 dovecotes, cultural events, festivals and local celebrations awaiting for you, to experience and explore. 

Being in Tinos, do not forget to visit the church of the patron saint of Panagia, the excellent Marble Craft Museum in the village of Pyrgos, to participate in summer outdoor cultural events and traditional festivals such as artichoke, honey, wine, trawl, raki or caper. All these events will be experienced in the open-air graphic squares of the villages of the island, under the starry sky with dances and songs accompanied by musical instruments.

For hikers and nature lovers Tinos has a 63 km dense and well preserved network of well-maintained paved footpaths that bring the walker into contact with the island’s unique natural and historical heritage preserved in many isolated scattered settlements perched on mountainsides, hanging in ravines or scattered in small plateau. The walker will have the opportunity to experience the hospitality and the gregarious nature of these small communities of hardy farmers and skilled craftsmen for the sake of whom Tinos is also known as "the hand-made island".
