Country house overlooking the valley and the river with a garden and swimming pool

The Il Pratone agriturismo is situated a short distance from the historic centre of Castiglione d'Orcia, with a beautiful panorama and view of the valley and the River Orcia. The house, which is in the typical construction style of the Val d'Orcia, has been restored with materials typical of the area and consists of a large kitchen, a living room with fireplace, two bedrooms with bathroom and toilet. It is furnished with period furniture from the turn of the century in the Arte Povera Toscana style. It has heating.

The house consists of a ground floor apartment of about 100 square metres, divided as follows: A kitchen, a living room with fireplace, satellite TV, stereo, gas oven, electrical oven, dishwasher, fridge, kettle and coffee machine, sofa bed for two people. Two bedrooms with double beds, in one of which the beds can also be arranged separately, two bathrooms with shower and bidet, WC. In addition, there is a basement that is divided as follows: laundry room, bicycle storage room, cellar. The apartment is furnished with furniture in the Arte Povera Toscana style. There are a total of 4+2 sleeping places (4 in both bedrooms and 2 in the living room on the sofa bed).

In the outdoor area, there is a verandah and a brick-built grill as well as a simple grill. In the garden, there is a swimming pool of 6 x 12 m. The property is located amid the countryside of Castiglione d'Orcia. Guests can also dine outside in the garden; garden furniture is available.

The house is surrounded by olive groves and vineyards, and borders onto an oak wood. The agristurismo is ideal for relaxing holidays in close contact with nature due to its seclusion and the special ambience in this part of the Val d'Orcia. The small farm is a family business and covers five hectares, three hectares of olive groves and 3500 square metres of special wine growing. In addition to olive oil, fruits and vegetables are grown. There is an extra room where you can sample the oil, the wine and, in autumn, chestnuts. The farm has an organic certification for its products and belongs to the Strada del Vino Orcia society, recently recognised by the Region of Tuscany.

    “Zeer fijne vakantieplek met heerlijk groot zwembad. Fijne grote slaapkamers. Heel schoon. Rondom het huis is het geweldig. Sfeervol en met prachtig uitzicht. We hebben enorm genoten van deze plek en van daaruit het zuiden van Toscane bezocht. Erg geschikt voor mensen met een hond. Positiv: De service en snelheid van Luca. Als er iets was, werd het direct opgelost. Negativ: Het zou fijn zijn als er een A4 lag met informatie over bijvoorbeeld het WiFi wachtwoord, dichtstbijzijnde grote supermarkt, gebruiksaanwijzing wasmachine, etc. De toegangsweg is kort en onverhard. Diepe kuilen en niet fijn om met je auto over te rijden.”

    “Das Haus ist sehr gut geeignet für 4 Personen, da 2 Schlafzimmer + 2 Bäder. Das angebliche Schlafsofa im Wohnzimmer scheint mir weniger geeignet. Toller Pool, schöner Garten, alleinige Lage, kaum einsehbar, keiner würde sich am Lärm stören, viel Geschirr, aber nur 2 Weingläser:).
    allerdings ist es kein Bauernhof, kein Agriturismo, sondern nur ein alleinstehendes Haus mitten in Olivenhainen. Der Besitzer hat aufgehört, Weinbau zu betreiben - also keine Weinprobe (entgegen der Beschreibung).”

    “Ein sehr schönes Ferienhaus in einer mehr als ruhigen Lage. Die Ausstattung ist gut, sauber. Sehr nette Vermieter, sehr diskret. Immer sauberer Pool. Hunde sind willkommen. Keine deutschen Fernsehsender. Da sollte man eine DVD mithaben (das Abspielen funktioniert).”

    “Das idyllisch gelegenen Ferienhaus ist ein Traum um die Seele baumeln zu lassen. Sehr sauber und gut ausgestattet. Der Pool ist das absolute Highlight. Der Kontakt zum englisch sprechenden Vermieter war sehr gut. Außer Müll und Poolkontrolle war der Vermieter nicht anwesend.
