House in Dornumergrode with Private Parking and Unobstructed View

The terraced house is on a green complex with 14 holiday houses - residential groups of three houses each with four residential units, and a house with two residential units – on the Störtebeker Landstrasse between the North Sea town Dornumersiel and the beautiful village Dornum with its well-priced shops (three supemarkets e.g. Aldi 2km away), with an unobstructed view of the embankment just a few minutes away.

The house was built in 1999. The house with its 85m² of living space on three floors consists of a combined living and dining room with a kitchen unit, three bedrooms, a shower room on the ground floor and a toilet on the first floor. Due to the glass bow front in the living room and the dormers in both bedrooms on the first floor, the rooms appear large and light. The house is made out of solid brick in a Frisian style, has underfloor heating and was built with high-quality materials, offering a high residential standard for 4-5 people. A child’s bed and highchair are available. Note that three beds are in the attic, which can only be accessed up a narrow ladder.

The house has a car parking space, a paved terrace shielded by a woven fence and an outdoor storage room with bicycles and rubbish bins. The individual house are separate by a hedge and the whole site is enclosed by a rose hedge. Each house has its own terrace and a lawn of varying sizes. A gardening company ensures the gardens are well-tended and they are now mature. The view of the embankment 500 metres away is unobstructed.

There is a container belonging to the house with 5 relatively new and valuable city bikes, a children’s bicycle and a mountain bike. A children’s wooden hand cart is also available. The hosts kindly request that they are handled with care.

There are cycle paths in all directions (Dornumersiel and Nessmersiel).

    “An sich eine nette Unterkunft, jedoch fanden wir es ehrlich gesagt „schwierig“ das für W-LAN und die Waschmaschine bezahlt werden muss. Da wir nur zwei Nächte, zu zweit, da waren, ging es. Aber wenn man ne Woche Urlaub machen möchte als 4 köpfige Familie, wird’s doch teuer.
    Auch hatten wir Glück, komplett alleine in dem Reihenhaus gewesen zu sein. Bei voller Belegung keine Chance auf Ruhe. Insgesamt 240€ für 1,5 Tage (zwei Nächte) ist echt Zuviel. Wir kommen nicht wieder.”

    “Die Unterkunft war okay,nur die Übergabe war sehr schlecht.Die Verwaltung hat sich nicht um einen gekümmert.Wo der Müll entsorgt werden soll, musste wir selbst erkunden.”

    “Schon am ersten Tag, hatten wir uns wohl und „heimisch“ gefühlt. Das Haus liegt in einer sehr ruhigen Gegend, umgeben von Feldern wo man eine tolle Runde mit dem Hund drehen kann. Die Ausstattung war in Ordnung. Messer waren zwar vorhanden, jedoch alle sehr stumpf.
    Was leider überhaupt nicht funktionierte war das WLAN…und dafür Geld zu verlangen find ich persönlich etwas fragwürdig.
    Noch ein kleiner Minuspunkt für mich: die Stufen zur 1. Etage waren sehr glatt. Nicht nur für uns, sondern auch für unseren Hund.

    Aber im Großen und Ganzen hatten wir eine tolle Zeit und einen tollen Aufenthalt in Dornum. Positiv: Man hat sich sofort „heimisch“ gefühlt, tolle Terasse, sehr ruhig Negativ: WLAN (fast) ohne Funktion, sehr glatte Stufen”
