This villa with its 2 acres of beautiful grounds is within walking distance of the picturesque village of Fontaine-de-Vaucluse which is one of the highlights of the Vaucluse area. Spend one of your days walking along the Sorgue Rive, and follow the rough water all the way to its mysterious source (cave) of which still no one knows the exact depth of.
You can get your groceries in the cozy village of L 'isle-sur-la-Sorgue, known for its brick shops. One of the nearest big citys is Avignon where you will find the well known poppy palace. You can surprise the kids with a day trip to the tree climbing park in Fontaine-de-Vaucluse, or for the little daredevils (aged 3-8) there is a children's kayak course at Fontaine-de-Vaucluse.
Culture enthusiasts visit the Cathedrale d'images in picturesque Baux-de-Provence, the picturesque village of Saint-Remy-de-Provence, or the beautiful Arles.
You will have plenty of privacy, overlooking the enourmous private grounds to the edge of the forest. There are multiple cosy terraces in the sun, and shadow. All the furnishment has been looked after very well, and the rooms are spacious. You will find a television with English and French channels in the living room. There are lots of inflatable toys in the pool, for the children to enjoy. The pool also a seating area around the brim (which is nice for the youngest).
De ligging van Villa Alexandra is unique. Rustig en prive maar toch binnen bereik van zoveel activiteiten. Wij zullen aan onze gasten informatie achter laten over goede restaurants in verschillende prijs klassen. Dag ritjes zijn talloos en wij zullen wat voorstellen maken.
Gewoon een dagje thuis wilt blijven, ontspannen en genieten van het zwembad en een goed boek is een traktatie. Dan rondom de lunchtijd lopen naar Fontaine de Vaucluse en een omelet met frieten of een sla en natuurlijk een glas wijn benuttigen, voor een prijs van misschien Euro 15.00 ( Restaurant Saleve, gelegen aan de rivier) Persoonlijk houd ik erg van de Luberon National Park, 5 minuten van ons gelegen en misschien in de late middag van een glaasje wijn genieten in het nabije Gordes. Men wilt niet koken en van een eenvoudige, heerlijke maar toch prijs gunstige maaltijd genieten... rijdt dan naar de Bergerie in Maubec of Les Remparts in Venasque of niet te vergeten Cafe de la Place in Pernes les Fontaine. Al deze schattige dorpjes zijn een ware introductietot 'la vraie Provence'.
Alles bij elkaar een waar paradijs waar men kan bijkomen van de dagelijkse stress.
