It is the largest marshland in Sweden and is 18 km away. In this context, a visit to the Naturum is obvious, you can watch birds through huge panoramic windows. In Värnamo, 20 km from the cottage, is the Vandalorum art museum and a good restaurant for lunch. You can also do good shopping there. However, more choice can be found in Jönköping, 57 km away. Not far from Jönköping is also the nice town of Gränna, home of famous candy canes.
