Bornholm, the pearl of the Baltic Sea, has a very unique landscape as compared to the rest of Denmark. The landscape consists of huge granite rocks, great forests, small trickling streams, idyllic villages and beautiful beaches. Do not miss an opportunity to visit Bornholm, where you can admire the typical round churches dating back to the 12th century, which are found only in Bornholm. You can also visit the small island of Christiansø and of course, 'Hammershus', which is Northern Europe's largest castle ruin which bears witness to a dramatic era. Children will love the Medieval Centre, where you can dress in period costume and play king in a real Viking castle of the Middle Ages. You can also cook like they did in the Middle Ages.
