Farm house, recently converted to a holiday villa (2010) with a private pool and a barbecue on the large sun patio



This bright and tastefully furnished holiday villa sits in a quiet and idyllic location amidst hills, just outside of Goldra, on Portugal's southern Algarve coast.

The traditional farm house from 1934 was renovated in 1010 and is equipped with all modern amenities, including air conditioning (heating/cooling). The 120 m² level access villa offers a bright living/dining area with an open plan kitchen, three bedrooms, three luxurious bathrooms with windows and a separate guest toilet with a washing machine. The living room is furnished with a cosy sectional, a wall mounted, flat screen satellite television with a USB connection and a DVD player, a stereo and a CD player and a wooden dining table and eight chairs. There is also a safe for your valuables. The black, elegant kitchen offers new appliances, including a ceran stove with a stainless steel exhaust hood, an electric oven, a refrigerator with a freezer compartment, a microwave, a kettle, a toaster and a coffee maker and is separated from the dining area by a breakfast bar. . The three bedrooms are furnished: one 140 cm x 200 cm double bed, and 2 x 90 cm x 200 cm single beds, which can be combined to double beds. Furthermore, you will find three bathrooms: two with a shower and the other one with a shower tub. All bathrooms have a sink with a wall mirror, a hairdryer and a toilet. A child's cot and high chair are available. Towels, bedding and Wi-Fi are included in the rental price.

The large glass doors open up to the sun terrace behind the cottage, furnished with a table and chairs and a barbecue. Enjoy the views of the mountains and the stars at night. The 5.5 m x 3.2 m pool is next to the patio and is surrounded by several sun loungers. There is also an outdoor shower. A car is recommended; the property offers secure parking at the house.

The villa is about 7 km from Quinto de Lago, a sandy beach with crystal clear waters. It is about 3 km to Loule with its many shops, colourful markets, cafes, bars and restaurants. A small grocery store can is located up the hill, at the end of the road.

    “Das Ferienhaus ist wie auf den Bildern, bestens ausgestattet und es hat wirklich nichts gefehlt. Der Vermieter ist sehr nett und sehr hilfsbereit. Für Urlauber die Ruhe suchen und entspannen möchten, ist dieses Haus und der Ort absolut das richtige. Es waren genügend Liegen und Schirme vorhanden, die in einem sehr guten Zustand waren. Der Pool ist wirklich sehr schön und für Kinder bestens geeignet. Im Haus war alles sehr sauber und auch die Badezimmer waren alle sehr gepflegt und nirgends war Schimmels oder sonstiges (da sieht es in manchen Hotels viel schlimmer aus). Das Haus findet man übrigends vom Flughafen aus am besten mit GoogleMaps, da benötigt man die Wegbeschreibung nicht wirklich. Wir waren sehr zufrieden und kommen auf jeden Fall wieder:-)”

    “Eigentlich ist es wirklich ein schönes Haus.. modern, sehr schön eingerichtet, alles da, was einen schönen Aufenthalt ausmacht, wenn da nicht ein wenig Nachlässigkeit im Bezug auf Küchen-Sauberkeit wäre, auch der Außenbereich könnte viel gemütlicher sein. In unserem Fall war der wirklich wichtige Sonnenschirm kaputt, eine Liege brach auch gleich auseinander. Leider ist keiner vor Ort, der sich liebevoll um das Haus kümmert. Und das ist es, was fehlt, Liebe zum Objekt. Für eine Woche Aufenthalt ist es okay, nur längere Zeit, wäre ärgerlich. Mein Tipp an den Vermieter... es gibt bestimmt viele Putzleute, die zuverlässiger und besonders liebevoller mit ihrer Arbeitseinstellung umgehen würden. Ein Austausch von diesen Leuten wäre ratsam. Ansonsten hätten wir eine gute Zeit.”

We have taken on board your comments, and given feedback to our cleaning team. I would say that if you had communicated your feelings at any of the given opportunities, we could have provided an immediate solution.

    With regard to the garden furniture, it is most unfortunate that the umbrella and sun bed broke during your stay. For future reference, I would recommend informing your hosts of any breakages, that way something can be done while you are still enjoying your holiday.

    In this case it was particularly frustrating for us, as we had just purchased all new garden chairs, this umbrella and most of the sunbeds, so would have hoped for better wear and tear. At least it was fortunate there were many other sunbeds and umbrellas available to you. Hope to see you again next year.”

    “De woning op zich was goed en ruim,de vaatwasser kreeg de vaat niet schoon. Tevens waren de buitenstoelen en ligbedden in slechte staat, de parasol was al geknikt en is donderdag afgebroken door de wind! We waren al lang blij dat er niemand onder lag.”

    “Many thanks for your comments. We always welcome feedback because it enables us to constantly improve our service so that our clients go away happy. We are always nearby and easily contactable, so if you had told us about them at the time, small issues like putting salt in the dishwasher could have been rectified instantly.

    We were surprised by your comment on the chairs. We had carried out a full check the day before you arrived, making repairs and substituting new chairs so that there were plenty for your group. It was unfortunate one managed to break during your stay.

    With regard to the umbrella, or should I say one of the umbrellas, because there were three. Two of them are brand new, the third which you refer to is a older and a little threadbare, but we chose to leave it as we thought it would be a useful addition to your group of six. The Thursday you mention was a day of high winds, and we always request that guests put down umbrellas in that situation because they can and clearly did blow over.”

    “Mooie, authentieke en ruime vakantie villa. Prachtig gelegen in de heuvels ten zuiden van Loule. Omgeving is heerlijk rustig. Het strand ligt op op zo'n 15 minuten rijden (in mei). De villa is van alle gemakken voorzien.”
