Holiday home for max. 3 adults + 2 children
Komarna, Croatian Adriatic Coast, (Makarska Riviera), Croatia
Komarna village is 70 km north of Dubrovnik and 130 km south of Split. It lies on the coast of the Mali Ston Bay, and you have spectacular views over reefs, cliffs and small islands to The Peljesac Peninsula.
These renovated holiday apartments are four identical terraced houses in Komarna, a friendly little former fisherman's village on the coast in the Mali Ston bay. The village is a friendly, unspoiled and safe place. Children may run around without getting in trouble and the mix of local people and tourists is just right.
There is a promenade running along the water all the way to a pebble beach. The beach is in a little bay protected from the west-wind and here the water is safe for small children.
Four holiday apartments with stunning sea view and their own balcony. A shared garden with two grils and loungers. Quietly situated. Ideal for a holiday with children
Each house has 64m² of living space on two floors and is suitable for six people. The lower floor has a living room and a kitchen. The upper floor has two bedrooms with air conditioning and a bathroom. The living room provides a sofa for two people, a coffee table and a dining table with six chairs. There is a 32” flatscreen TV with satellite channels (Astra 1), so you can watch English channels such as BBC World, Sky News or CNN, as well as a wide range of German, Italian and French channels. A DVD player with some films and some books are also provided. The open kitchen is equipped with a two-ring hob, a dishwasher, a big fridge, freezer, cooker hood, kettle, microwave, coffee machine and crockery and cutlery for six people. The main bedroom on the upper floor has a double bed with single mattresses (90 x 200cm), bedside tables, a cupboard, a radio alarm, air conditioning and a safe, and has access to the balcony with a view of the sea. You can enjoy a great view here with a glass of wine in the evening as the sun is setting. A cot can be provided free of charge on request. The second bedroom has a bunk bed (mattresses 90 x 200cm) and air conditioning and is furnished with a table, a cupboard and a sofa that can be converted into a double bed. A door opens from this bedroom into the garden. The sofa bed and the bunk bed are comfortable and also suitable for adults. The bathroom is between the two bedrooms and is accessed from the stairway. It has a generous shower cubicle, a hairdryer and a washing machine that is easy to use.
Behind the houses there is a shared garden and two terrace. Each terrace has a big grill. On the front side of the building, each house has its own roofed terrace by the entrance door and a balcony in front of the main bedroom. The front terrace and the balcony both afford a wonderful view of the little islands and the Peljesac peninsula. In the outdoor area, each house has a garden table and six chairs, as well as a little table and two chairs on the terrace and the balcony. There are cushions for all the chairs. The shared part of the garden features a sunny terrace with deckchairs, a garden table, a small table and chairs, two big garden grills and children’s toys, and let’s not forget the turtles that live in the garden among the tangerine, orange and lemon trees. The garden is fenced and safe and therefore suitable for children. At the upper end of the stairs there is a gate, so children cannot run out onto the street, but generally there is not much traffic here, just the occasional passing car. There are six guest parking spaces in front of the building.
Three houses are non-smoking, while smoking is permitted in the fourth. Each house has a free wireless Internet connection. Each house provides information material with many ideas and route descriptions to many places of interest.
The village does not have many amenities. There is a little hotel with a restaurant that is open during the season, and there are also a konoba (restaurant) and a minimarket 40 metres away. It is just 40 metres to the sea and 300 metres to the nearest beach where there is a beach bar that serves both drinks and food. The coastal road is 800 metres away. It is 130km to Split. A visit to the Kravica waterfalls is a must. Mljet, the green island, and the Bacina lakes are also worth seeing. It is just 70km to Dubrovnik, the pearl of the Adriatic, so you can also go on a day trip to this interesting town. Many more sightseeing suggestions are in the book in the apartment.
