show more da Calheta, you will find locally a grocery store, post office, bars and cafés and a lovely church square. Just 1 kilometre away is the resort of Calheta, with its golden sandy beach, marina, and a good selection of bars and restaurants.
For those of you wanting to visit the islands capital, Funchal, this is only 30 minutes by car.
The entrance opens into the large, airy, open plan living space. On one side you have comfortable sofas surrounding the fire-place and TV. The ideal spot to relax and reflect at the end of the day. On the other side is the stylish dining area. The French windows open onto the terrace, swimming pool and gardens, with views of the mountains and sea.
There is a very large, fully equipped kitchen which also has a breakfast table, ideal for your morning coffee. Adjacent is the laundry room which has a washing machine, tumble dryer and ironing facilities. Just outside the kitchen is the purpose built barbecue area, making ‘al fresco’ dining, easy, fun and enjoyable. There is also an outside shower room with toilet, and for the more energetic a small gym room equipped with a treadmill, bicycle and triceps/biceps machine!
On the upper level are all the bedrooms; all beautifully decorated and spacious. There are 4 double bedrooms, 2 with en-suite bathrooms, (1 with Jacuzzi), and a twin single bedroom. Three of these bedrooms open onto the wide balconies that overlook the swimming pool and the magnificent views.

From the airport you drive on the VIA RAPIDA (motorway) in the direction of Funchal, Camara de Lobos, Ribeira Brava. After about 30-35 minutes from the airport you come to the end of the motorway. From now you follow the villages

show more Brava / Ponta do Sol until the second roundabout. At this roundabout you go the first to your right, into a tunnel. The next roundabout, after the tunnel, you leave the direction of Ponta do Sol and take the coastal road until you reach Lugar de Baixo and then continue until Ponta do Sol.
At this roundabout you take the 2nd right, into the tunnel, and follow the direction of Madalena do Mar. At the roundabout at the end of the long tunnel, you take the 1st turn to the coastal road through the village of Madalena do Mar in the direction of Calheta and another roundabout and tunnel to Calheta. At the end of this tunnel, you go first exit (Arco da Calheta). You continue and come to another roundabout; there you take the first to the right. You follow until the end of the road (with a stop sign). There you go right and after about 100 meters you turn to the left and follow the road until the next crossroad (Rua Achada Santo Antão). Turn to the right. Now you are on the road where the house is.
Go to the end of the road where the restaurant Costa Verde is. Then you give me a call and I´ll meet you, so I can give you the key. I live less than 5 minutes away from this house.
