    “Der Ort ist ca. in 1/4 Std. vom Ferienhaus aus mit dem Auto zu erreichen. Es gibt 2 Einkaufsmöglichkeiten für Lebensmittel, Restaurants und Cafés. Die Speisen sind für deutsche Verhältnisse sehr treuer. Wir waren 1x Essen. Das Essen war gut. Es gibt ein Aquarium indem man einheimische Fische bestaunen kann. Ein historisches Hotel, indem Kaiser Wilhelm residiert hat gibt es dort auch. Ausserdem auch 3 Wickingergräber. Man kann Bootstouren buchen, z. B. Hochseefischen oder Schellboottouren. Von Barlestrand aus kann man sich auch auf beschilderte Wanderwege begeben. Sehenswert ist auch die kleine Olafskirche mitten im Ort. Ein Ort der Besinnung und Stille. Das Personal in den Geschäften war immer sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Ein idyllischer Ort, den wir gerne öfter aufgesucht hatten.”

    “Ein schöner Ort mit einem lebhaften Zentrum am Hafen, es gibt viele Möglichkeiten mit oder ohne Kaffee den Ausblick auf den Fjord und die Berge zu genießen. Einziger kleiner Nachteil ist, dass man für fast alle Ausflüge die Fähre nehmen muss. Das ist besonders bei der Rückreise zu bedenken, wenn man die Fähre in Oslo erreichen muss.
