Independent country houses, each with its own panoramic pool – ideal for groups or large families
The property is located in the municipality of Castiglion Fiorentino, outside the locality and surrounded by the greenery of the hilly landscape. The location on a hill at an altitude of 550 metres above sea level affords one of the most beautiful panoramas in the Valle di Chio.
The site has three completely independent country houses. The owner lives in one of the houses from the 13th century. The second, Villa Principe, was restored in 1994, while the third, Villa Bellavista, was restored in 2003. The view offered by the holiday houses is unique. Each holiday house ensures complete privacy.
The site of around nine hectares provides forested areas, meadows and olive groves. The two holiday houses have their own driveways with automatic gates.
On arrival, you are offered a free sample of wine and olive oil cultivated on site. The organic products can be bought on site.
The nearst locality is a ten-minute drive away (7.5km) and has supermarkets, restaurants and a train station. The historical towns of Cortona (20 mins), Siena, Perugia, Florence, Montepulciano and the lake Lago di Trasimeno are less than an hour away by car. The majority of the Valle di Chio is criss-crossed by trails (recommended by the CAI), suitable for hiking tours and mountain bike trips, In summer, cultural events with music and historical festivals are held in the nearby towns.
Country house 2
The country house was built in a typical Tuscan style, using traditional materials such as stone, cotto flooring and chestnut wood beams. It can accommodate up to four people and has two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The living space of the house, which is on one level, measures 110m². The living room (70m²) has sofas and a typical Tuscan fireplace. An archway separates it from the spacious, well-equipped kitchen with a big dining table. There is also a bathroom with a shower and a small adjoining area. The bedroom with a double bed (25m²) has its own bathroom with a bath and shower. The second bathroom has two single beds that can also be joined together as a double bed. The double beds measure 170 x 210cm and the single beds 85 x 210cm. The country house is equipped with an LCD TV with satellite reception, a DVD player, a wireless Internet connection, a microwave, an electric oven, a toaster, a coffee machine, a washing machine and a dishwasher.
Outside there are two furnished verandas of around 40m², one on each side of the house. The pool is about 50 metres from the house. It is next to the owners’ house and is for the exclusive use of guests, from 9.00 – 19.00. Use of the pool at night requires permission from the owner. A barbecue and a table tennis table are available. The villa has its own parking area.
