Big vintner’s house with its own pool, on a vineyard in the Pays Cathare, with the possibility of wine tasting
The big stone house, along with two other holiday residences, is on a vineyard above the little wine-growing village of Cascastel. It is ideally situated at the heart of the Corbières region, in the Pays Cathare, and is the perfect holiday accommodation for families or groups of friends.
The former manor house from the 19th century has been renovated and provides 280m² of space for ten to fourteen people. It has four bathrooms, with a bath/shower, and four bedrooms, which are decorated in a contemporary style, as well as in the style of the Louis-Philippe Napoleon III era. All the toilets are separate. The 180 x 200cm beds in the two double rooms can also be converted into two single beds. The third bedroom can accommodate four people on a double bed and a double sofa bed. The largest bedroom is divided into two areas by a screen and can accommodate six people. It has two double beds and a sofa bed for two people. The double beds can also be converted into two single beds. The kitchen is equipped with all modern appliances. The living room has a fireplace and a piano.
The house is surrounded by a big, enclosed plot of land planted with centuries-old, Mediterranean trees. You can enjoy a view of the Roman tiled roofs of the village, the vineyards and the Corbières region. Right in front of the house there is the 11 x 5-metre private pool with an outdoor shower and sunbathing area with deckchairs. Adults and children can enjoy cooling off here on hot summer days. Children will also be delighted with the table tennis table, the boxing sack and the swing.
It is possible to enjoy free wine tasting on the vineyard. You can also book a payable “introduction to wine tasting”, with a tour of the vineyards and the wine cellars with a commentated tasting of the seven wines produced at the vineyard. You can ask about prices on arrival.
It is a two-minute walk to the nearest restaurant. Gourmets will not mind driving twelve kilometres to a restaurant awarded three Michelin stars. Of course there are also many other restaurants nearby of all categories. There is a grocery shop two kilometres from the house, or a supermarket a six-kilometre drive away. It is just 25km to the Mediterranean Sea.
