Old stone holiday house with a large garden, in the medieval village of Montorfano, near Lago Maggiore
The house is located in the ancient core of the village of Montorfano, surrounded by the alleyways of the hamlet and the paths of the surrounding forest. It is located at the highest point of the village.
The old stone house is on two floors and can accommodate up to seven people: four in the two bedrooms, two on the sofa bed in the living room, and one on a pull-out armchair bed in the fireplace area. On the ground floor there are the kitchen and the fireplace area, as well as the large living room and a bathroom with a washing machine. The kitchen is equipped with everything you need for cooking, including a juicer and a coffee machine. Customised stairs, incorporating a storage space and a fridge etc, divide the kitchen from the fireplace area, which is furnished with armchairs and an armchair bed. The living room has a sofa bed for two people, a television with satellite channels, a DVD player, a selection of films, and an extendable dining table for up to ten people. On the upper floor there are the bedrooms: one with a double bed and one with two single beds, as well as a bathroom with a shower. The house is equipped with a vacuum cleaner, ironing appliances, a clothes horse, a first aid kit and a fire extinguisher.
The whole outdoor area is reserved exclusively for guests. In front of the house there is a large front garden with access to the house, and to the rear there is a beautiful garden with a terrace, furnished with a table, chairs and a parasol. There are also four deckchairs. Next to the house there is a little courtyard with a table, benches and a barbecue.
Wireless Internet access is available throughout the house and outside. The stone walls and the location of the house ensure pleasant temperatures even in summer. Many windows are fitted with fly screens.
Montorfano is an ancient village, surrounded by nature, located in the centre of Verbania province. Lago di Mergozzo with its lovely “La Rustica” beach is just 1000m away and within easy walking distance, while Lago Maggiore is about 2.5km away. The proximity to the Verbania train station makes it easy to get to Milan and Switzerland. On the piazza, 30m away, there is a free public car park, accessed via the steps you can see on the photo.
