Six holiday cottages, quietly located in a country estate, ideal for family holidays or a romantic retreat for couples - Winner of the 2017 Swansea Bay Tourism Award

The six holiday cottages are situated on a working farm. The farm is tucked away in a valley near a quiet hamlet in South Wales. It is situated at the end of a long private farm lane. The four holiday cottages surround the estate’s square courtyard with several buildings.

The farm is situated alongside the picturesque river Clydach that flows through the property’s 100 hectares of private land. Guests can take lovely walks in the private grounds. Take a walk through oak woodland awash with bluebells or enjoy sitting on the lawns inside the courtyard in the shade under the large beech trees while watching the sunset and the sheep grazing. On request, a barbecue can be made available. Each cottage has three parking spaces only a few metres away from the front door.

Internet access via W-Lan is free of charge. On request, the landlord is happy to provide you with a free of charge highchair and a baby bed. The landlord has compiled a comprehensive information fiolder on the region and its tourist attractions. A copy of this is placed in each cottage. In your cottage, you will also find a guide book for hiking on the farmland through woodland, fields and hillside areas with views of the idyllic Welsh countryside.

Although the property enjoys a secluded and quiet location it is within easy reach of local amenities. A supermarket and a pub with good food are only a few minutes car drive away. It’s a 20 minute drive to the town centre of Swansea. The cottages are also only a quick drive from the main attractions in South Wales, including the famous National Showcaves Centre for Wales, some of the Neath Valley’s most beautiful waterfalls, Brecon Beacons National Park, the cities of Swansea and Cardiff and several castles and museums. The beaches of the Gower peninsula are also within easy reach.

Nice Holiday House in Rhos with Electric Fireplace

This holiday accommodation is one side of a semi-detached Georgian cottage house. The cottage was originally built as stabling for the gentry’s horses and carriages. The white archway and circle that adorn the holiday cottage tell of its past life as a 19th century coach house. A stream runs right next to the holiday cottage.

The front door leads into the small entry area where you can leave your jackets and coats. The country style kitchen has been meticulously designed by the landlord. The 4 seater dining table is in a corner on the left side. The kitchen is equipped with an oven with cooktop and a microwave. A washing machine and dryer (front loading) is also available. The kitchen leads into a cosy living room with natural wood flooring. The room is furnished with a comfortable sofa, hd tv flat screen with satellite receiver and an electric fireplace that looks just like a real wood burner. From the living room you walk to the long narrow hallway which is equipped with traditional wood furniture. Stairs lead down to the guest toilet. Another staircase leads to the upper floor. The white ceramic tile bathroom is to the left. It is equipped with a bath tub with shower attached, toilet and sink. Through the hall you walk into a bedroom with two single beds which looks onto the courtyard, and into the second bedroom with a large double bed, two bedside tables and a wardrobe. This bedroom looks out on the stream and onto the courtyard. Wood beam ceilings add a particular charm to the bedrooms.

The living room door leads to the paved terrace overlooking the banks of the river Clydach. The terrace is surrounded by a fence making it a safe area for children. A large six seater table and sun shade are available. Enjoy a nice breakfast on the terrace and relax in the private garden area, listen to the relaxing sound of the birds and the gentle gurgling of the stream, home to trout, dipper and wagtail birds.

    “Im Ferienhaus war alles, was man für einen längeren Urlaub braucht. Sehr ruhig gelegen mit dem Rauschen eines Baches als Hintergrundmelodie. Und natürlich Schafe. Im Haus sind viele Empfehlungen für Ausflüge, Gastronomie, Einkaufsmöglichkeiten und sonstigen Service in einem (englischsprachigen) Heft zusammengefasst. Einkaufsmöglichkeiten sind mit einem Fahrzeug schnell zu erreichen. Einziges Manko war der Wasserdruck in den Toilettenspülungen. Schön für Familien und für Leute die mal raus wollen. Die Lage ist auch als Ausgangspunkt für Erkundungen in Südwales empfehlenswert. Der Brecon Beacons Nationalpark und die Halbinsel Gower sind nicht weit. Man braucht ein Fahrzeug.”

    “Das Haus ist gemütlich, aber könnte mal wieder renoviert werden. Die Küche ist klein und eher zusammen gestückelt mit Möbeln und auch vom Geschirr her. Die Sitzmöbel im Wohnzimmer sind durchgesessen. Oben die Zimmer sind sehr gemütlich und das Bad ist einfach, aber okay.
    Die Lage des Hauses ist sehr schön, an einer Schafweide mitten im Wald. Die Umgebung der Farm kann durch eine schöne Wanderung erkundet werden. Bei Sonne kann man wunderschön draußen sitzen.”
