Holiday House in Berg Municipality with Private Parking

A breathtaking wilderness in the mountain world of northern Sweden surrounds this holiday house on the Galå Fjällgård. The house is amidst the wonderful high plain at the foot of the Oviken mountains in Jämtland. The unique location by the historical ‘Fäbodvägen’ (mountain pasture road) opens up the possibility for a range of activities in the beautiful surroundings. You can set off from the cabin in summer on shorter or more extensive walks through the landscape consisting of old forests, high moors and the fjäll.

The cabin, available all year round, has two separate bedrooms for up to five people, a living and dining room with a fireplace and a cosy sitting corner with a modern kitchen-diner. The bathroom is generous, with a WC, shower and washbasin. It has a cold and warm water supply all year round. A powerful fireplace stove ensures pleasant warmth after an active day in nature. The necessary firewood is provided and is included in the rental price. The bathroom and living room can also be heated with electric underfloor heating. After a day trip, you can relax on a sofa in the living room, with a fire in the fireplace stove exuding pleasant warmth. The bedrooms each have an electric radiator and a bunk bed. The bunk bed in the first bedrooms has a lower bed measuring 160 x 200cm and a raised bed 90cm wide. The second bedroom has a conventional bunk bed, each measuring 90 x 200cm. The modern kitchen is equipped with a ceramic hob, a dishwasher and a fridge with a freezer compartment, a kettle, toaster, coffee machine, cutlery, glasses and cooking utensils. You can sit together for meals in the dining space next to the kitchen unit at an extendable dining table with two chairs and a corner bench.

The bordering Börtnan fishing area is known for its lakes and rivers for fishing for trout and char. Fishing permits are sold locally. In winter, the owners run their own skiing trail for guests. There are also waymarked tour trails for snow shoe hikes. Cross-country skis and snow shoe equipment are let out at the farm. Snow mobile trips can be arranged on request. Owing to its location at the foot of the Oviksfjäll in the Jämtland region, the house is in the area of the reindeer pastures of the Sami village Tossåsen. You can observe reindeer the whole year near the holiday house.

A local hiking brochure and an information folder with advice for activities (route suggestons, restaurant recommendations and places of interest) are provided in the cabin. The holiday houses at this charming mountain farm, far away from mass tourism and under German ownership, offer pure relaxation and a high standard of comfort. The accommodation is characterised by an ideal location in absolutely quiet nature, local hospitality and a range of activities. The house is on a newly built farm that has been in German ownership since 2005. The owners live at the farm all year round and are available to assist with any queries during your stay.

Many guests like to explore the area by car. You can go on trips to the town Östersund or to Vemdalen/Klövsjö, Ljungdalen or Gräftåvallen. The wonderful expanse of nature starts right on the doorstep. There are two hiking trails leading along the mountain streams through Nordic primeval forests and high moors. The nearest lake with fishing possibilities is 5km away. Owing to the location amidst nature, cafes and restaurants are about 10km away. There are shops, gastronomy and a swimming pool 40km away.

    “Uneingeschränkt weiter zu empfehlen, wir werden auf jeden Fall auch nochmal dorthin zurückkehren Positiv: Sehr gut ausgestattete Küche, liebevolle Einrichtung, ausgezeichnete Tourenvorschläge, wo man sich eigentlich selber keine Gedanken mehr machen muß, Negativ: WLAN war in unserer Hütte sehr instabil, das heißt, man war leider auch oft nicht über das Mobiltelefon zu erreichen.”

    “Sehr gut ausgestattetes Ferienhaus in idylischer Umgebung für einen perfekten Urlaub in der Natur. Das Ferienhaus verfügt über einen gemütlichen Wohn-Essbreich, 1 Badezimmer und zwei Schlafzimmer. Brennholz für den Kamin ist in ausreichender Menge vorhanden. Das Bad verfügt über eine Fußbodenheizung. In den Schlafzimmern gibt es zusätzlich elektrische Heizkörper. Vor dem Haus lädt ein Picknick Platz zu einem Essen im Freien ein.

    Die Küche ist mit allen notwendigen Geräten (Toaster, Kaffeemaschine, Herd, Backofen), ausreichend Geschirr und Besteck ausgestattet sowie einem kleinen Kühlschrank mit Gefrierfach. Bettwäsche und Handtücher können gegen Aufpreis zugebucht werden, ebenso die Endreinigung.

    Einige Wanderungen und Mountain-Bike-Touren können direkt vom Ferienhaus aus gestartet werden. Die Vermieter geben gern Auskunft zu möglichen Touren. Ein Mountain-Bike kann gegen Gebühr bei den Vermietern geliehen werden. Ein kleiner Flyer mit Vorschlägen und Wegbeschreibungen wird gestellt. Wanderkarten und ein Buch mit beschriebenen Wander- und Tourenvorschlägen kann im kleinen Info-Shop vor Ort erworben werden. Ebenso besteht die Möglichkeit ein Kanu gegen Gebühr zu leihen.

    Auf dem Gelände gibt es einen Kinderspielplatz, eine Grillhütte und einen Lagerfeuerplatz. Im Winter können Schnee-Schuhwanderungen, Langlauf Touren und Ausflüge mit dem Schneemobil unternommen werden.”

    “Haus sehr sauber und sehr gut ausgestattet, Umgebung Blockhaus sehr sauber, gut gepflegt und sehr übersichtlich. Feuerholz, Entsorgung und Waschmöglichkeit sehr gut organisiert. Informationsordner vorhanden, sehr gut alles beschrieben und viele Tips für Ausflüge. Vermieter sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit.”
